hi ahmad,
a) yes, i created free space by deleteing/merging partitions. There are other ways also.
b) ubuntu 9.04 has almost all the drivers for vgn-cr353 except the webcam drivers. You can run Ubuntu using Live CD without installing it into your system.See if it is working fine on your system configuration or not.

Well, ubuntu 10.04 is out :) , Try it http://releases.ubuntu.com/lucid/

hi. i own a vaio vgn-cr353. i recently upgraded my vista to windows 7 but i found that the performance remained sluggish. after seeing my friend install ubuntu on his desktop, i was interested with the speed. so here's a few questions:

a)if i install ubuntu on my vaio according to your step by step instruction as you mentioned in the article above, must the seperate partition for ubuntu be created before installation or during step 4?

b)drivers. does ubuntu have ALL the drivers needed for vgn-cr353 or do i have to hunt around the net to find them? would appreciate it if you had links for these drivers.
